timothyr
this just started this weekend, and I am finding I am getting more and more anal about the little details of having the car nice. it is almost acting like a grounding issue, but the tach is fluttering about 200RPM regardless of engine speed. (ie if actual engine speed is 3k, the tach will bounce between 2700 and 3200; the needle will never sit stable) (also, no codes and all other gauges work fine) If it is a ground issue, where do i begin, and if not what else? Thanks in advance t
PAUL T
Does it have a ticking sound? If it is analog my guess would be the cable binding due to lack of lubrication. A cable replacement should solve your problem.
Logan
The jumping tach. Any jumping tach almost always is a ignition system issue. It can be anything....from 'green' connections at the ignition module to a bad plug wire.
