nitrous1 Posted September 2, 2004 Report Share Posted September 2, 2004 My STS left me stranded last night on the way home from work. Onboard diagnostics showed me DTC PC0231 - Fuel pump voltage low. By the time I got the car towed home, it was too late for much troubleshooting - I'll have to leave that for this weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions where I should start or should I just follow the steps in the FSM? I bought a TECH 1A (with all the OBDII stuff) a few weeks ago and I've been looking for a good project to use it on and I think I've found one. nitrous1 Posted September 3, 2004 Author Report Share Posted September 3, 2004 I did a little troubleshooting last night and I've come to the conclusion that the fuel pump is bad. The fuse blows instantly whenever I turn on the ignition to energize the pump. I checked out the relay and it is working properly. It could be a problem in the harness going back to the pump, but based on the car's mileage, I believe that the pump has seized up or shorted out. Oldgamer Posted September 3, 2004 Report Share Posted September 3, 2004 Now, to be sure that fuel pump is short just disconnect it and try to turn on the ignition.
