mike27513
My 04 XLR intermittently [about once a week] blows the A/C compressor fuse. Usually occurs when the A/C is left on at engine shut down and the engine is started [max draw on the battery]. The car has a new battery. The dealer states that the A/C compressor , freon level, sensors, etc. all are OK Anyone have a similar problem on an XLR [ or other 4.6L Cadillac ?] Any information appreciated. Ranger
The compressor is drive by the engine so I'm guessing the clutch is overloading the fuse somehow.
KHE
Check the wire harness that connects to the clutch for areas that may have rubbed through and are shorting. Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71

To close out this thread, The problem was the compressor drawing too much current. The compressor was replaced [ under extended warranty] and so far the Compressor Fuse blowing has not returned. Unusual for a car with 30K miles but possibly since it may not been driven much with A/C on [it was originally a California car] so possibly was not corrected earlier. Here in NC 90+ Degree summer days are common. Tome and Mileage will tell if this has solved this
