ehz
I just bought this 1998 Deville a few days ago and Im having a couple issues with it. When I first start it up it can run rough for a few minutes, the other day I fired it up and left for work and got a random misfire P0300 code, later that day the check engine light went off on its own. My wife took the car to work this morning and I watched her leave only to notice some white exhaust, not like a cloud of exhaust mind you it basically looks like any car does in the winter. Thats the best way I can describe it. Other than those couple issues I dont have any other problems with it. Its super clean, looks brand new, and has 81k on it. If I left any info out or you guys need me to answer some questions Im off today and through sunday. Ill be checking in regulary and appriciate everyones time and effort helping me out. Thanks again, Mike
BodybyFisher
Smell the coolant and see if it has an exhaust smell to it. When the engine is cool take the cap off the tank and smell Have the coolant tested for combustion by products, it sounds like you have a bad head gasket Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Ranger
Also smell that white exhaust. Does it smell sweet like coolant? Speaking of coolant, are you adding any? I agree, I has the makings of a head gasket.
