franey Posted August 12, 2004 Author Report Share Posted August 12, 2004 SORRY HAND PUSHED WROUNG BUTTON, NOW, the cad dealer says you can not replace just the rear switch, you have to buy the entire rear assembly piece that the switch is mounted into for 210.00, now i know gm parts direct is cheaper, but has anyone replaced just their switch only? franey Posted August 14, 2004 Author Report Share Posted August 14, 2004 IN THE SLS , YOU HAVE A FAN MOTOR IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CONSOLE OPERATED BY A FAN SWITCH ON THE BACK OF THE CONSOLE AT THE BOTTOM. I HAVE SHOP MANUAL AND CAN DIAGNOSE FAN SWITCH OR MOTOR, QUESTION IS , IS THE DEALER RIGHT , THAT YOU HAVE TO BUY THE ENTIRE REAR ASSEMBLY JUST TO GET THE SWITCH. franey Posted August 15, 2004 Author Report Share Posted August 15, 2004 I am not sure what you are looking at , but the SLS, has a fan switch which closes to ground for the fan motor and it is a resistor type switch which has a knob on it and you move it from left to right to increase the console fan speed .
