clucas6308
Hi All, After a wot on an on ramp my 2002STS had no pick up but the tach was 4X plus, not picking up speed. Rolled it into a tranny shop and they hooked up a techII scan tool and we test drove, after a wot it happened again and he noted tranny is ok but the air flow was about ½ what it should be he suggested a exhaust back psi test thinking the cat may be blocking flow. The ABS C1247 is new I am just wondering what the code means, ABS motor free spins, and what to replace or do. Thanks everyone, Chris 2002 Seville STS 117,000 no mods yet! BodybyFisher
Chris, explain what you mean by this statement: no pick up but the tach was 4X plus, not picking up speed It seems to me that you are saying that the tranny was slipping, the rpms were rising but you were not accelerating, is that what you are saying? BodybyFisher
You can get the meaning of your codes here http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/dtcobd2.html Oddly enough C1247 is not showing for some reason, but I found it with a google search http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-50753.html DTC C1247 Brake Pressure Differential Switch Activated Maybe someone with a 2002 manual will chime in here Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
clucas6308
The engine raced 4000 rpm but slowly picking up speed.I am going to remove the front O2 sensor as a test and see it it runs better, thinking it may be a plugged cat converter. I was mistaken on the code # ABS C1246 which makes more sence. Thanks for replies. Chris
BodybyFisher
Take a look at your tranny fluid and smell it, it sounds like you were slipping, that is not normal. That kind of RPM should have had you hauling, not slowly picking up speed, it sounds like tranny.... A blocked exhaust wont allow you to rev the engine, it dies, chokes, etc, I had it with a Chevy Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

So where and how was this air flow being measured? I agree with BBF, if you had a plugged cat, you would have never gotten to 4000 rpm. Were you on dry pavement? Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
