jimsbox
I have a 00 DHS with 280000 miles. I am going to replace the engine and try to find a fairly low mileage transmission from a salvage yard. Is ot a good idea to get the converter that was on the salvage tranny, go rebuilt or go new. Suggestions on reputable builders or rebuilders would be appreciated as well. Jim

jimsbox
Hey Ranger, I just thought I would try this forum as well but you have already helped me on the other one on deciding whether or not to rebuild my tranny. You probably remember now that I am getting an engine from Jake because of the mileage but yesterday it overheated so I did another block test and now it has a blown head gasket, never turned yellow before. Anyway, I would appreciate your and any one else's thoughts about the torque converter question. Thanks, Jim
