jjcaddy
My 1995 STS (163,000) has been leaking oil from the main seal for awhile. Opted to drive it but leak has got much worse so need to look at getting it repaired. I was wondering what kind of a charge I will be looking at to get this done.If anyone has had this repair can you give me a ball park figure. Thank you, jan
KHE
Rear main seal leaks are rare. Are you sure it is not the oil manifold plate that is between the oil pan and the engine block that is leaking? At any rate, the engine needs to come out or the trans needs to come out to access the oil manifold plate and rear main seal. $2500+ comes to mind.
