bculliton
Car has 113k miles, never missed a beat, engine missing, check engine light flashing. Scanned it shows Default code D0002, Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit Range/Performance. Can someone give me a clue what is wrong? Thanks, BC

Thanks, BC First is this an export vehicle, or is this a US vehicle, the codes are different on export vehicles Your code does not appear to be an OBD2 code, I am unaware of D codes You do NOT need to use a scanner to retrieve codes, did you use a hand scanner? Furthermore I am unable to find a Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit code. Go to the top of this page, click HOW TO, then click DTC codes and follow the directions for your year to extract the codes and post them here Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Thanks, BC a quick answer from the symptoms youve stated and without any further info, sounds like the same problem I just had with mine, missing with a flashing SES light. Coil pack was bad on mine. Theres a big chance its a coil pack, small chance its injector/plugs/boots. * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE

Don't take this personally, but I could give out my guesses all day long, I could give a LONG list of reasons from fuel, to vacuum leaks, to electrical to mechanical. Rather than get a member off on the wrong foot, typically, its best to look for DTC codes first, that can narrow down the hunt, including providing which cylinder is missing Quick answers can be correct or turn out to be a wild goose chase, its sort of like Obama saying the police in Boston acted stupidly after saying he didnt have all the facts Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
BodybyFisher
I am aware that my response above appears HARSH. However, diagnosis for me is an INVERTED CONE >>>> V <<<< You start with hundreds of reasons at the TOP of the CONE for the potential problem and narrow it down to THE reason at the BOTTOM of the CONE I am VERY locked in to this method of diagnosis, it CAN be appear to be a more time consuming method, but in the long run, it is more direct. Are 2000's known for coil pack problems, yep, but that comes AFTER we get the codes Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
