My car is sometimes not blowing warm air, turn the climate control upto 90f and its just cold, does anyone know where the heat baffles might be located or how its works? i have a feeling it might not be sliding the chambers over right to give me warm air..

my biggest issue is I just drove 1500 km's south and am in Mrytle Beach, so i was hoping i can get some good tips to atlest see where this control is, and maybe i can manually bypass it for the time being, is it under the passenger side somewhere, can i get at it if i take some kick panels off?

any thaughts?

Check for codes. If you have drivers side and passenger side temp controls you have 2 actuators. The codes will tell you which one is the problem. The actuator varies the temp between COLD AC and HEAT.

You may also need to flush your heater core it might be clogged with the tablets, also check your coolant level.

level and heater core are fine because it works sometimes, might turn it down and off, then turn it on later and it won't blow warm. If i cycle the key, it almost will always work after if i turn the heat on right away...

I have no heat on either side when it happens, I really just want to know where that accuator control is and if I can move it manually, I dont have time to F around with it. I just tried to get the codes and I have over 35 codes stored, its nearly impossible to get them written down. (i cleared the codes yesterday before putting 1000 miles on today, so they hav eall happened just in this one trip lol)

You are looking for AC codes, the code that directed me to the temperature actuator was 1340

B1340 - Air Mix Door One Movement Fault

B1341 - Air Mix Door Two Movement Fault

Without that info, you are poking around in the dark.

They fall under the body codes

They are behind the glove box. One is accessible through the glove box (after it is removed) and the other from below after removing the passenger side hush panel.
