Dave in Texas
Anyone know how much a 440-T4 weighs? I'm trying to figure-out how to pull the engine alone, or the engine/trans combination....Thank you for all replies, I appreciate it. Cadillac Jim
The 440-T4 is also known as the 4T60, which is the non-electronic version of the 4T60E. It differs from the 4T60E in that it doesn't include the differential and half-shaft. It, along with the differential and half-shafts up to the CSV, should weigh about the same as a 4T80E. I don't have that weight myself, however. growe3
I don't know exactly what it weighs, but it would be about 200lbs. Any engine hoist can easily handle the engine and transmission removal. I would estimate the engine and transmission combination to be approximately 600 - 650 lbs. Most engine hoists can handle up to 1,000 lbs. -George Drive'em like you own 'em. - ....................04 DTS............................
Dave in Texas
That much weight means I'll have to remove the engine by itself..... GM Reman 4.1 engine Dec '
