Babydon
Light went out, I'm sure it's the bulb cuz before it died the light was not as bright as the other. Anyway, I don't want the cops to harrass me and give me a ticket, so in the meantime can I use a halogen bulb? Same socket (9600) and brand name Sylvannia - just don't want to damage anything. Will be getting new HID bulb this weekend but I need to drive home tonight and it's a long drive. Thanks!
Cadillac Jim
The HID socket will NOT light up a tungsten bulb, and it may blow out the starter/ballast, which is an expensive part. You're better off to go by a Pep Boys and get another HID bulb. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Babydon
darn... Hope I make it home without seeing cherries in my rear view. Pep Boys? I'm in Toronto, Canada - no pep boys here. Anyone know of a shop I can get them at besides the dealer? I did a search and it's all coneversion kits and sellers from home.
JimD
Put your fog lamps ON. That should satisfy law enforcement as to the number of front lamps. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !

Cadillac Jim
Any decent auto parts store that stocks a lot of headlight and other bulbs will have HID bulbs these days. Just be sure and get a good quality brand like Sylvania and use the crossover chart to get the right one for your car.
