STS
My question is for a 97 STS. On the climate control the blower will only blow on high speed. No matter what I do in auto or manual the blower blow high speed. Even when I select low it blows high. I can shut off the climate control and it shuts off the blower. I seem to remember years ago the fans had a resistor or something to control the 3 speeds. Does anyone have an idea on fixing this blower?
KHE
These cars do not have a resistor network. The solid state blower control is integral to the blower motor. It sounds like something in the blower motor module has failed and replacement of the blower motor is necessary. Ranger
Speed is controlled by variable current (.04v-.09v I think). I agree with Kevin. Time for a new blower.
