jamesc
The code, when looking it up for explanation indicates sticking torque converter or sylenoid needs replacing. The car drives great and shifts with no problem, neither is it burning the transmission fluid. I have flushed the tranny and changed the filters and the light stays on. Can someone give this shade tree mechanic some advice
Ranger
The solenoid is not engaging, thus the torque converter is not locking up at 41 MPH. That means that at any given speed you will have a very minor slippage 100-200 RPM or so, thus your fuel mileage may suffer by about 1 MPG. The repair is about $2000 I believe.
