New Tints! (and the annual fall battery service)

Every year around this time I usually post here, reminding everybody to clean their battery terminals! I just finished cleaning mine, and was quite surprised at the results. As usual, my battery and terminals *looked* spotless from the outside, and the terminal posts were bright and free of crud. As soon as I put the wrench to the terminal, I could feel the rust and debris trapped in the threads. Once off, the back side of the positive terminal was clearly filling with yellow corrosion and rust. I applied the cleaner, let it foam the junk off, rinsed, and dried with paper towels. I brushed the terminals, sprayed some red "protector spray" on them, and buttoned it all back up. Battery is only a year old (Diehard Gold), but the starts are much crisper, with voltages up about .5v, staying in the mid to high 13v range.

I also got the windows tinted! 35% all around! The tinter did a great job, as it really gives the car a nice look. I'm now going onto my 5th year of ownership, with 100k on the odometer. This has probably been the only car I've ever owned for more than three years, which I still look forward to driving each day. Every time I've looked at a new car, I'm reminded why I like the ETC so much! I've yet to find another coupe with a sticker of less than $80k that gets my attention, so I guess I'll be keeping this one for a while!

I attached some links of the new tints - hope everybody enjoys! (Let me know if the links don't work!)

The tint looks good! When I first got my SLS, it was completely see through. I can't stand non-tinted windows, so that was the first thing that I had done to it. I'm lucky enough to work at a place that does it.....it looks MUCH better now. I've got to clean it up a bit and take some pics. :)

Send me a PM with a phone number at work and your name. I have recently become very interested in tinting some glass and would prefer a shop with Cadillac experience and recommendations. Georgia law would prevail as to the percentage.

I am planning a trip up I-75 before the end of October.

Just out of curiosity, what did the tint job run you? I've often thought about having my windows done too.

Tints ran me $275. I applied a few coats of Zaino yesterday, but the paint is beginning to show its age when viewed from up close. It's probably time for a good buffing, or maybe even a wet-sand to level out the clearcoat and get rid of the suface scratches.

I don't drive myself too crazy over dings/nicks/scuffs, as it's my daily-driver, but I do my best to keep it as clean as I can!

My next project is to have the steeringwheel, driver's seat, and center console re-wrapped in leather. The leather is factory mint everywhere else, but those areas are showing the mileage.
