PCM CODE 1483

On my Uncles 1999 Deville there was a code "P1483 - Engine Cooling System Performance". I do not have a 99 manual and I am not as up on these codes as I am with my 94 Concours, so what does this really mean? I have also been looking for a newer Caddy, 97-99 Deville, so I am trying to educate myself about their codes. He has had overheating problems and had the thermostat change and given a clean bill of health on the head gaskets, but he is still a little leary about any overheating codes. Also I did not know if it was a current or history code, my wife just called and had run the codes and just gave me the numbers. I will check into that.

Did you check the bleed line? Air in the system would cause temp swings. Not near my manual either, this is just a guess

No, but the dealer was supposed to have checked it out for him. When my Aunt gets back home with it I am going to clear the codes and have her drive it a while and see what comes back. All indications were that the coolant was at the correct operating range. Anybody know what the code actually means?
