Does anyone here have an opinion on them based on having owned one? I'd be interested in hearing about some of the pro's and con's with the Catera. Bruce Nunnally Posted April 11, 2004 Report Share Posted April 11, 2004 A bit heavy for their size, a bit underpowered, and not known for great reliability. If you get a great deal going in and is has a nice extended warranty it might be a deal. On the bright side, the new GTO is on the same base platform, proof to me that if Cadillac had put the LS1 in as a Catera Sport they coulda sold more than the 1k they projected. lacseville Posted April 12, 2004 Report Share Posted April 12, 2004 my roommate at college has one. he bought it to be a reliable car, but immediatly had transmission problems. he's now had 2 put in. the car is under warranty, but is still a lot of down time. i've heard of similar problems from other catera owners...
