JIMDTS Posted November 10, 2006 Report Share Posted November 10, 2006 My wife had me pinned in the driveway this morning so I took her car as she calls it an 07 dts she likes the new one better than the 01 which I drive I like the 01 better I guess because I know the car & it's quirks..Although the newer one is a nicer car I tell her if she don't be nice to me I'll take the 07 & she will drive the 01 so far it worked she is making me some nice dinners lately. Jim Just kidding man, I was sitting here thinking, my choices are a 96 Deville and my wife's 02 Monte Carlo with a standard 3100. I go where I am told over here, so don't feel so bad. JIMDTS Posted November 10, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 10, 2006 Hi Scotty My wife always mentions she would rather have the body style of the 90's She does not like the 2000 forward styles Every time she gets in my car she will mention this car feels like a dolled up grand prix She likes the 07 it's a very nice in some ways it is nicer than the 01 I sort of like the 07 interior but the seats are narrower and shorter in the seat than the 01 I can notice it so the 01 is more comfortable to me. PLus I don't like the controls on the 07 the 01 are much more user friendly it is probably due to I'm used of the 01's The 07 rides a little better than the 01 but not by much the 01 handles better IMHO You have to keep the women folk happy or go through life with an unhappy spouse which can cause problems I don't need. I don't think the 07 looks as aggressive as the 01, the 07 has a pretty look to it.. Thanks for the comparisons... JIMDTS Posted November 11, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 11, 2006 Hi Scotty I don't like the steering wheel controls for the radio they suck too many buttons to push pull etc etc Same with the power window buttons push pull type crap I like the rocker type switches on the 01 Not a big issue just small things that add up If I drove the car all the time I probably would get used to them Same with the steering control for the tilt steering wheel the 07 is manual push a button move the wheel the 01 is electric much nicer to use it's all just simple stuff you don't need but they are nice to have What gets my wife upset when I take her car is that I'm a smoker and I smoke in the car she is also a smoker but does not smoke in her car So today I made sure to put a cigarette butt in the ash tray to let her know I'm not going to follow her rules When she takes my car she smokes in it so too bad turn about is fair play..
