Hunter1949
I recently purchased a 1995 deville. Last week it started running rough and smelling like gasoline. This morning it took several times to try to start it then I was finally able to get it started after keep the gas pedal down for a few minutes. Can anyone help me? Thank you so much! Dee What size engine is it, 4.9 or 4.6? Being a Deville and not a Concours I would say it is a 4.9. I would check the Fuel Pressure Regulator first. Check the archives there is a lot of info on this. adallak
Pull the vacuum hose off the FPR (see the pictures) while engine is idling. There should be no fuel in hose or dripping from the FPR nipple. A leaky fuel injector is another possibility.
