Sent her down the road...

Let it go for $1,350 last night. Would have liked to have held out for more, but realistically that was a decent price for me in that cond. Some things I put on and would have liked to have taken off and sold seperate (exhaust, wheels, silverstar bulbs, etc.) but it helped sell it I'm sure.

In review of the ownership and what I spent ($1,800 orig., and $1,200 additional improvements) I got by pretty cheap. That equates to about $69 per month to own and drive a very nice vehicle! :o I must say that it was one of the most dependable vehicles I ever had. It never left me stranded, and actually got me from point A to point B quicker than most cars I ever had! I am amazed I never got a speeding ticket! B)

It definitely saved my butt from serious injury in the crash, and I feel very fortunate about that. Sad that I couldn't squeeze in that last trip down to the local drag strip with my son, but that gives me more motivation to get this Firebird moving again. :) I will miss that car, but will certainly still try and keep up with this board and contribute where I can. It has sure been lots of fun, and a good education. What a great group of members! :D

PS: If anyone needs a set of GM service manuals for a '93 Eldo/Seville let me know... I will be posting them soon in the F/S section for $25 + shipping.

Spruce,

That Firebird will be nice, but after a couple of months, you will be wanting another Caddy! B)

If I had made the North Dakota trip in your Firebird that I just made in my SLS, I would probably be in traction or having some vertebrae fused! :P

You will miss the ride and the mileage!

The Goose served you well. Imagine getting slammed into that pole in an Escort or a Caviler!

Good Luck

Britt,

Yes, you are correct... There is no comparing the ride between the Eldo and the Bird! :P The Firebird will only be a cruise/car-show ride, wouldn't be able to afford the gas bill for that thing as a daily driver. :o It was only getting about 10 mpg when it was still stock!

Ouch, don't say the "E" word... I hated fords before this, now every time I see a stinkin' Escort I scowl...

No immediate plans for another vehicle purchase. We have kinda' reposessed my daughter's 96 GP after I ended up putting another engine in it. She couldn't afford it, and her recent accident with our other car didn't help her situation...

I'd love to buy another Caddy again sometime, will definitely keep my eyes open for another huge bargain like that last one. I have pretty good luck spotting those at times. I'd like to pick up a nice '96 STS if I stumble on a deal in the future... B)

Wow... the Goose is gone... I feel for you.

I hope you can find another deal and get going again in Cadillac style.

Up here there seems to be no such thing as a good deal on a Caddy. Junk is selling for more than you paid for the Goose... then you gotta get it running.

My humble prediction:

You will probly take the 'bird, go to the local cruise night... light 'em up... and while you make a hasty retreat, just under the tolerance of your local tolerant cops: someone you left behind in the smoke-engulfed crowd will say "that's the guy that smoked his Caddy all the way down the street..." :DB)

Here's to the memory of the Goose:

Cheers!

Spruce,

Sorry about the inclusion of the accursed "E" word. I was trying to think of a P.O.S. car & the "E" word just popped to mind.
