chevyorange
Well, had my engine replaced. When I dropped it off, it only had a major oil leak and two bad head gasket leaks so I opted for a rebuild. 7/70k mile warranty and the engine is STRONG. However the mechanic left me with a headache. Whereas there were no codes before, I now have problems and he could not solve them so I took my car back because he was running up the bill and obviously did not have his heart in the fix. These are all things that never were problems before the engine R&R. 1994 STS Z-rated Current: T041 RF ABS Valve Solenoid T055 LR Valve Solenoid fault TCS T051 RR ABS Valve Solenoid My EBTCM had been replaced as well as the computer - neither solved this problem. How much am I screwed? Thanks in advance for any help. The car JUMPS off the line, even starting in 2nd gear with the Traction Disabled and ABS lights on. BodybyFisher
I visit my dealer a lot. I have noticed that when the carriage is dropped the ABS unit is physically disconnected from the carriage and hung on the vehicle when the carriage is dropped. If they dropped the carriage, they most likely moved or disconnected the ABS unit. I would check all connections at the ABS unit. About 6 months ago we had a member CUT the ABS wires when he dropped the carriage and he had problems afterward. Check all ABS connections and ask them HOW they handled the ABS unit when they dropped the carriage.... chevyorange
Followup: McCann Cadillac in Tacoma had my car overnight, they found that my incompetent mechanic (Recession Repair in Seattle, WA) flat out left the ABS wiring harness undone. They also have left the A/C compressor not completely bolted back to the engine letting the refridgerent leak out and lost the bolts that are missing. I'm having that fixed as I type by another mechanic. I do not trust to take my car back to the place that basically laid waste to my car underhood and returned it as if it was "as good as they could do".
