BodybyFisher
The CHOKE pipe that Mark is talking about is the front bank exhaust crossover under the oil pan area, this pipe is restrictive. BodybyFisher
I will let Mark speak to this, its not easy, if not impossible Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
danbuc
Well, the only thing you can really do in order to make the exhaust flow less restrictive is find a way around it. There is no more room for a larger pipe where the stock crossover sits (inbetween the engine and trans). Because of how Marks turbo setup is routed, he can't use the crossover pipe. Your best bet is to just get a decent catback system and be done with it. That is unless you feel like find away to route that pipe eslewhere. The only place left is under the car, which would reduce your ground clearence significantly.
Nikolai
Does anyone have a picture of the pipe, and it's plumbing to the y collector? How much could actually be gained from a better flowing design?
danbuc
I would say a decent amount of performance could be gained by increasing the pipes diameter. It has to get pinched pretty flat to slip between that small area in there. I'll try and throw a pic up on here for you.
Nikolai
I'd appreciate it. It really does feel choked.
