davedog
Haven't been here for a while - like the new format! Anyway, ever since I got my 92 Eldorado, I've wondered what the small black round "blob" in the middle of my dashboard was - I know that the small round thing next to it is a sensor to detect if it's light out - but I couldn't figure out what the big "blob" was. Then tonight I saw a BMW parked next to me, when the guy locked his car I noticed that his dash had a "Blob" too, and it was blinking red (I guess for his alarm). So is mine supposed to blink too? What might the problem be? Is is a bulb? THANKS for the input! Crystal Red Tintcoat Exterior | Shale/Brownstone Interior | 32k
JasonA
The "blob" next to the photocell is also a photocell. It senses light brightness and intensity and interfaces with the HVAC system on your car. Yes, your A/C will actually put out cooler air to maintain the set temperature if it knows it's really bright out.
