JasonA Posted April 27, 2005 Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 The engine really takes 7.5 quarts with a filter. I believe that's what my owner's manual says. I wouldn't put in a full 8 quarts. If anything, put in 7 with the filter. Any extra oil won't hurt anything, but it'll burn off quickly and go out the tailpipes anyway. If they put enough in to get picked up by the crank, then things could get intere$ting in a hurry. I don't know how much it takes to reach the critical stage, but it is not wise to overfill ANY engine. Around here, the oil change emporiums gripe about the N* because it takes more than 5 quarts for a fill. 99 eldo Posted April 28, 2005 Report Share Posted April 28, 2005 i dont trust those guys at these service oil centers with the ns engine.what i do is change it myself and add 7qts of havoline 10w-30 and new ac filterdry. peace of mind for me. add oil when it says on the DIC. good luck Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
