Cadillac hopes to grow annual sales from 277,868 in 2015 to 500,000 per year in 2020. However, so far in 2016, U.S. unit sales are down 12.5%. Most of the 2016 unit sales decrease can be explained by Cadillac’s most popular model going through a complete replacement. Cadillac’s flagship sedan, the CT6, is going after Mercedes S550, BMW 7-series and Audi A8 while starting at radically lower prices. Cadillac’s CT6 sedan flagship weighs several hundreds of pounds less than most competitors, and has an infotainment system that’s much more functional and easier to use.
