New For 1964: Gleaming Chrome Cadillacs Against a Backdrop of America

in 1964 Harper's Bazaar hired photographer Lee Friedlander to shoot the new cars coming out that year for its November issue. They were familiar with the young artist, and his work shooting portraits and album covers of jazz musicians, so its art department let him shoot however he pleased: fully hands-off, a rarity.
