Despite trumping the stock car by 132 hp and 171 lb-ft, the D3 XLR-V is just 0.4 sec quicker to 60 mph, 0.9 sec quicker to 100 mph, and 0.4 sec faster through the quarter. The wider, stickier rubber doesn't seem to help all that much, either. Braking distance is the same 115 ft as the stock XLR-V we previously tested, while its performance in our handling tests is substantially worse -- 27.0 sec at 0.68 g through the figure eight and 0.82 g on the skidpad.
