Bruce Nunnally
Enjoying a week long test drive (rental) with a 2015 Mustang V6 convertible. Click the images to zoom in. The 15 Mustang is a new design with independent rear suspension. . This one has the 3.7 L V6 making 300 hp, and auto transmission. The top is electric up/down -- just release one simple latch then hit the button. With top up we got 26+ mpg over a 60+ mile mixed highway/metro drive. Price on this V6 convertible model starts around $29K with the V8 variant up to $43k. There us a 2.3L turbo 4 that is priced between the two. Bruce Nunnally
Nice touches: top up/down 7 seconds, good power, 22+ mpg in mixed driving, no fuel cap, backup camera, dash info center Needs improvement: manual single zone climate controls, cloth seats, difficult entry due to seat shape, Going from the $29k V6 convertible package to the $35k turbo 4 solves dual zone climate and leather seats. Add $2k for memory seats, premium audio, blibd spot warning so call it $37. The v8 vert starts at $42k. Overall made a fun rental for the week, and validated my plan to continue to shop for an XLR.
