Kdwellssr
01 Cadillac Deville. Heater blower wire issues. Keeps burning out the wire on the High blower side of the plug in. I can't seem to find a pigtail replacement anywhere. What can I do short of replaceing the entire wireing harness as suggested by the Dealership.? BodybyFisher
I may be wrong but none of the wires is a HIGH BLOWER wire. The blower works on pulsed width modulation, and you may be burning out the feed wire. It does not appear that this has been repaired correctly in the past when it has "burned out" as you say. How has it been repaired in the past? You should be able to replace it with a pig tail, see this site for replacement plugs and contacts, so I know it can be done. Make sure you solder, shrink wrap and tape the wire joints if you do pigtail the connection. http://www.repairconnector.com/products/160-Piece-GM-Weatherpack-Terminal-Kit-With-Tools.html Here are pigtails http://www.whiteproducts.com/pigtails.shtml Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
