dvlerin41
After fueling my car up it takes about 2-4 minutes to get the car to crank, it will turn over and over with cranking. When it finally cranks it seems jerky and doesn't run right for another minute. I posted this on another forum and search the internet, finding very few discussions or info on this. I did get a few responses and it was said that it is defiantly my HVAP purge valve solenoid? The problem has gotten worse now after about 2 weeks of refueling problems it seems to run rough at idle and yesterday would not staying running at idle, without giving it some gas. Where is this located? I seen that the parts where fairly cheap, but labor on replacing the EVAP valve was 800$+ at the dealer. Any information or help on this would be great! 2004 CTS 3.6L has 150,000 miles on it.
BodybyFisher
Check to see if you have any codes set, it might be obvious what the problem is, you have an on board diagnostic system, it will set a code when there is a problem Call local national auto parts stores and ask them if they can retrieve codes in your year CTS Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
