jbrc515
Hi I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me whats up with my stereo. It hasn't worked since I got it. It powers on just fine and displays everything ok, but it makes cracking and popping noises when I turn it on. The speakers are all working great. I tested them earlier today and didn't have any issues, so I am assuming the stereo is the source of the problem. This is in a 91 Eldorado Biarritz, and the stereo is the Delco Bose Gold Series with a CD player. If anyone could help me out with this I would really appreciate it. Thanks. BodybyFisher
There are Bose amps in each door speaker, the capacitors go bad and cause that noise, you need to rebuilt the amps or get new ones Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
