Much as I would love to grab up an XLR I can't talk myself into one as a road car due to the limited luggage space.

Would LOVE to have one as a commuter; the features on this model are VERY attractive.

This one marked down to $34,891 on special this week. KBB.com suggested retail is $40K, so it seems a good value. Only just over 14K miles, so very lightly used as a weekend car?

The standard XLR has the 320 hp Northstar V8, navigation, magnetic suspension, heads-up display, and of course the trick hard top convertible so you get the advantages of a convertible with the top down or a full quiet top when up.

The 2006 still had the 5 speed transmission instead of the 6 speed that arrive in 2007, but is at a more attractive price point than the 07s.

If you DO grab this one up, come give me a ride in it!

Bruce I have to say, If you are not traveling with a LOT of luggage you should still consider getting one of these cars. When the top is up the trunk is not excessively small. You can put plenty of stuff in there and remove it at the destination, if overnighting, and then put the top down. I actually doubt that most people will travel more than a couple hours with the top down anyway. Check one out in person with the top up, I think you may be surprised.

On the subject of these cars, anyone looking should not shy away from one from the northern climates, as long as its a low mileage car. They have probably spent months in a garage out of the weather. Mine had 17,000 miles, from Massachusetts, and is flawless. Its also a good car to send to the prom.

Here is where I bought mine and they have another v model now. I highly recommend them, when they say it is nice IT IS.

I can travel for a week in a small duffle bag, but I love it when my Wife comes along and she travels with a piece of luggage we call "Gigantor".

Glad to hear positive reports of living with the XLR though!
