Göran W
Going home from work I get SES. No change in engine performance! This has happened several times this last week. P0340 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit and P0341 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance. They show up as "history" even if I leave the engine on!!! I clear the codes (and check that they realy are gone) and SES goes out! What couses this and why do they appear as history????
Ranger
It's probably a hiccup so to speak. Once it stops hiccuping it is history. I'm guessing that the CMP sensor has an intermittent failure.
Göran W
Thanks Ranger! I guess it could be a weak connection? Can You direct me to where I find the CMP?
Ranger
Connection is possible, but I doubt it. CMP sensor is Part #236. Passengers side of the right(rear) head. http://www.genmotorinfo.com/Picture.aspx?ccId=383517752&ppId=114044944&ppInfo=2000-2001+E%2cK%2cEngine+ASM-4.6L+V8%2cPart+2%2cCylinder+Head+%26+Related+Parts+%28LD8%2f4.6Y%29+-+6M00050
