:bluesbrothers: I have a 2001 Seville SLS. It wont start or crank when i turn the key, 20 mins later she fired right up. The Service Engine Soon lite was on. I pulled the codes P0385 and P0340, the battery votls are 15.0 when running, not running the volts are 12.6. This no start/crank has happend before twice a year...she runs fine, every now and then she gives me yhis problem. This is the 1st she gave me the codes. I did try to start her up out of gear, by moving the gear shift back and fourth, thinking the neutral switch was bad. Any ideas??? could my Smart key be acting up?? :hatsoff:

The security system is not the problem unless your DIC gives you a message, and you have not said that

Try cleaning the battery connections especially the positive cable, take the positive cable apart and clean it good

P0385 - Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor B Circuit

P0340 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit

I do not believe the above two codes would create a NO CRANK condition, that NO CRANK condition is due to something else, fix that first, by cleaning the battery connections and having the battery load tested to be sure that you dont have a intermittant short in your battery

The positive cable is a sandwidge of two wires, you must take the red insulator off and take the joint apart and clean it good, make sure its tight after you retighten and that the bolt does not bottom out before the cables are tight
