Guys, how can i determine which PCM came with my car from the factory? Are there different part#/models of the PCM? I have a 1994 Concours with the 4.6L Northstar and Hydro-Matic 4T80E transaxle. I took the car into the dealership to diagnose the "service engine soon" light that was on. They stated the PCM had incorrect output and incorrect KS pulldown. They changed the PCM about four months ago. They replaced the original with a remanfactured PCM mod.#88961146 and now it runs like crap. My MPG has gone from 18 city and 23-26 highway to 10 city and 18 highway and at idle the car is louder than normal and more exhaust fumes . Prior the PCM change the transaxle was extremely smooth. Now the gear changes are very pronounced.I would like to know how to find the original PCM part number or if there were different model or code numbers. I beleive something is wrong with the PCM or with the programming. I`ve driven about 900 miles since this work was done to get more accurate documentation regarding performance. Anybody got any ideas?

Yes, look at my signiture in this post and check for codes, if any codes are set, post them here. That is where to begin

if you feel that the dealer messed up, take it back, its their problem. It is not likely that the dealer would mess up, if they did its for them to replace or remedy. Hopefully they realized that you have a concours and replaced it with the correct PCM as it differs from a non concours.

Check for codes first
