robertmiler
ok guys, here with another problem. my shifter is stuck in park. it looks like the solenoid is trying to move the cable but just doesnt have it in it. has anyone ever changed one of these? can i just change the solenoid or do i have to change the whole cable and solenoid? Texas Jim
If I am remembering it right... unless the cable is in a bind or has stretched... I think you just need to change the solenoid...
robertmiler
thanks jim!. the box that has the actuall ignition switch in it is mounted on the column, and it is adjustable. i loosend the screws and moved the box closer to the top. i think this fixed it but my battery went dead be for i could try it out. robertmiler
the problem was actually the cable that unlocks the shifter when the brake is pushed, was pinched.
