gresmi
Does anyone know if it's possible to re-calibrate the temperature on my '91 DeVille? I have noticed, over the years, the temperature I set for my climate control is starting to creep up. Maybe 4-5 years ago I would set it at 75 degrees and rarely change it. Maybe, on a hot day in the summer, I would drop the temperature to 73 degrees but usually I would never think about it. Now I am adjusting it much more. For example, it's winter here and I have it set at 80 degrees. The car is comfortable but the fan rarely stops running. Summer months I run it around 75 or 77 degrees. It seems to me that the system needs to be re-calibrated but thought I'd ask around before I did much investigation. Thanks for any help!! BodybyFisher
Inside your dash there is an aspirator that pulls in the interior air over the interior temperature sensor. You will notice a tiny grill on your dash. if the motor that does the pulling of air goes bad (much like the cooling fan in your computer can do), you will get inaccurate temperatures from your HVAC. I have a diagram that I can post later to show you its location Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
