doc42h Posted December 11, 2010 Report Share Posted December 11, 2010 I just got a '93 Seville with a 4.9l engine. Drove the car for 3k freeway miles with no problems at 21 mpg avg. Today the engine would just die when I put the car into gear (D or R). The engine would start right away in P or N but turn off right away in D or R. Had it towed by AAA to a shop. Here the symptoms changed. Now it would start and keep running in D but would not move and make some mechanical noise, like a defective bearing. Any ideas what's wrong?
