They're spinning off appealing new models as if it were the 20th century again, and doing it with reduced staff and budgets. GM's Cadillac division is especially dynamic. Seems like every couple of months I'm driving a new Cadillac — most recently, the swoopy redesigned 2010 SRX crossover. The initial SRX, introduced six years ago, was a wagon version of the rear-wheel drive CTS sedan. Now, the re-engineered CTS wagon is called just that, the CTS Sport Wagon, and the SRX name is used on a front-drive crossover SUV aimed at customers who also shop for Lexus' RX 350, the first crossover luxury SUV and consistently the most popular.
