From its origin as a luxury car brand, Cadillac has come to be synonymous for "absolute best." During the 1980s and 1990s, Cadillac somehow lost its way and failed to deliver on that promise, doggedly building bloated, flaccid-handling gas guzzlers with a customer base comprised mostly of pensioners. The new Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon blows away the old-fogey image once and for all. The CTS is the General's declaration that Cadillac is alive, well, ready and able to win the hearts of a new generation. The CTS Sport Wagon's styling is masterful and more distinctive to my eye than class competitors such as the BMW 5 Series wagon and Audi A6 Avant. There's no mistaking the bold grille for anything other than a Cadillac. The body lines are simple and taut, and the vertical tail lights pick up design cues from the company's past.
