I knew that the sales goals for the Sport Wagon were low, but this article argues that the Sport Wagon also acts to draw in Buyers, who may then choose the CTS Sedan or SRX:

But don't look for the super-sized CTS, built at General Motors Co.'s Lansing Grand River assembly plant, to become a super-sized seller anytime soon. It wasn't meant to be.

Instead, the Sport Wagon is fulfilling GM's goal of expanding the lineup of the CTS and putting the Cadillac brand before the eyes of more potential car buyers, GM and analysts say.

"That's the role of the sport wagon," Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell said. "As a class of vehicles, it's a small class. But it is a very sophisticated class of cars."
