The engine was a ninety degree L-head Eight 346 cubic inches with 6.25:1 compression making 135 brake horsepower. The 38-75 had a 141 inch wheelbase and was 220 and 5/8 inches long. New it cost $3,075 and weighed 4865 lbs. Changes for 38 included a new front end style featuring a massive vertical cellular grille, three sets of horizontal bars on the hood sides, alligator hood, and headlights on the filler piece between fenders and hood.
