coolchris
Hi, I'm new to self maintenance. I was wondering if someone could show me where the throttle body and EGR valves are. I have read and searched through previous posts and believe that these are my problems. I have attatched a picture of under the hood of my '95-4.9L Deville. Any response appreciated. bigfoo
Take the air cleaner off.. the whole plastic/metal assembly that is black on the top there with the cadillac emblem on it.. the throttle body should be right under that in the middle if i'm not mistaken
adallak
Firs, welcome to the board! Do you see big round black plastic piece in the upper part of your picture? It has a big plasic nut on the top. Take it off and lift the whole thing up. You'll see the throttle body. Spray some carb cleaner in it and use a toothbrush to clean from carbon deposits the interior and the blades as weel as EGR tubes (two if them in the throttle) with a hunger wire.
