Sandra Posted July 14, 2004 Report Share Posted July 14, 2004 Hi, Has anyone ever had trouble after installing a remote starter in their Cadillac. I am hearing the trouble is attributed to that. Just replaced starter and almost had to replace flywheel. Doors lock at random and car does not always start. I would appreciate any feedback on this. Logan Posted July 14, 2004 Report Share Posted July 14, 2004 Remote starters are nightmares. Double so on Cadillacs. Most work ok for a year or so and then the problems start. Poor electrical connections can cause components to burn up etc. On Cadillacs, all the computers talk to each other on a Class2 data network. The systems can cause everything to go haywire. Seen it, been there, done that....I would recomend having the system removed.
