During the war, all automobile production in the US was suspended, so that industry could be dedicated to the war effort. After the war, Packard faded. "Back in the 1920s, if you had money you bought a Cadillac," Hanson said. "If you really had money, you bought a Packard." Hanson believes his car was custom-made for a Chicago man, who took it to his summer home in northern Wisconsin.
