joeb
RWD STS, XLR, SRX northstar. do they all use a coolant crossover casting like the old RWD setups or is there a new front casting for the waterpump? does the serp belt drive the waterpump? i assume the old cam driven wp setup is gone. Ranger
I am not familiar with the RWD, but I know it is different and the water pump is MUCH harder to replace from what I am told. If the intake manifold is dry (no coolant running through it) then there has to be a crossover manifold of some sort.
joeb
i am sure GM has nice illustrations of motors out on the internet. i have seen some real nice pics of the vortec/ls motors. trouble is, all the pics have the stupid beauty covers. like the new ZR-1 hood cutout. it lets people look thru the hood and see the top of the motor cover. woohoo. who gives a rats butt. i wonder how similar the 3.6 motor is compared to the northstar RWD setup? both are OHC motors so they both might have a dry nylon intake.
