rollingthunder1994 Posted June 10, 2004 Report Share Posted June 10, 2004 Hello All, Will bypassing my ECM on my 1994 STS allow it to shift? I changed both shift solenoids and VSS sensor. Speedometer works but tranny stays in second. It pulls strong but does not shift out of 2nd. If so where is the ECM and how do i bypass it? Logan Posted June 11, 2004 Report Share Posted June 11, 2004 Dont think you could bypass the PCM. Are you getting any codes? Could be a bad PCM if the quad drivers died.... You should be able to find a Delco reman PCM for about $150 exchange. You would have to swap the PROM over to the 'new' PCM.
