djyungstylez Posted March 4, 2009 Report Share Posted March 4, 2009 I have 96 cadillac deville, and its displaying an error message "Service AC System/AC Compressor OFF. WHen I turn on the AC, you can hear it blowing but nothing comes through the vents. When I cut the HEAT on it blows but not thru the front vents, but it actually gets hot. KHE Posted March 4, 2009 Report Share Posted March 4, 2009 The system is low on refrigerant - that is why it is setting the codes/turning on the "Service AC system" message. Does air flow out the defroster grill while the A/C is turned on? If so, there is a vacuum leak somewhere in the control system.
