I bought a 2000 STS W/63K mi. After a month of chasing a coolant leak, replacing bad Radiator cap first. Then leak showed up in seam of Radiator between tank & core. Installed new Radiator then the true culprit showed up, the block was cracked.

Purchased a dropout Vin code 8 engine W/77K mi. complete W/Acc.,Wiring harness,& ECM from a 2000 STS and had it installed.

Now the problem is the Car originaly had CA Emissions the replacement engine does not. I don't want to swap all of the Acc's

Is their a way of putting the correct resistors in line to give the ECM the "All OK" ?

I dont think you can do that, besides the fact that it would be nearly impossible you could potentially be caught cheating the state inspection system. Why not just transfer what needs to be transferred? What components are different? You didnt get an engine from within CA?

I forgot to tell that the car is now located in Nebraska so CA emissions are not reqired

Also the air pump was throwing codes on the old engine is anothe reason to eliminate the CA

OH ok, speak to your local Cadillac dealer, its possible that your PCM is specific to CA and it is 'looking' for certain parameters that are not available with this engine. You might get away with installing a non CA PCM, if your PCM is CA specific. You will need to get the AIR PUMP going, that is not a CA component. You say CA emissions are not required but they would exceed your state's parameters.

One more thing, you are showing an STS, you DID make sure that you installed the STS 300 HP engine did you? If you installed a NON STS 275 HP engine you will get CODESas the CAM is different. Is this a 2000 300 HP STS/ETC engine?

Why dont you post the codes you are getting here. Go to the top of this page to HOW TO, go to DTC CODES and read the how to retrieve your codes and post them here..

Logan might know the answer to this for California vs non California cars.
