primocustoms Posted January 5, 2009 Report Share Posted January 5, 2009 I have an 86 eldo with the 4100 motor in it and when I take it on the freeway it runs fine, get off the freeway it almost stalls, recovers with a really high idle and some knocking.. it will be really low on power and knock at every acceleration, after you let it sit for a while about 3 to 4 hours it will run fine, any help please... If you just drive on regular streets, do you have any problem with it knocking... or does it ONLY KNOCK when you have run it on the freeway first? My first inclination, is that it is getting hot. primocustoms Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Share Posted January 5, 2009 about 3 minutes on the freeway, It will knock on surface streets also but only at normal heat.. but it is hard to tell with just an idiot light, To me the exhaust sounds different also, like a hollow sound.. almost like it is pinched but it is not....
